The poles to which the optical cable is going to be attached could already exist and have other cables already
attached to them. Indeed, the pre-existence of the pole-route could be a key reason for the choice of this type of
infrastructure, particularly if it avoids road digging for the installation of new ducts. Adding cables will add to
the loading on the poles, so it is important to check the condition of the poles and their total loading capability.
